A comedy show about a company called Veridian Dynamics that seems mostly good, but in truth is quite flawed. Interestingly, the mass awareness and exposure of corporate issues in the USA would start taking shape around the time I first watched (~2016). There are two seasons, currently available to watch via Prime Video and Apple TV. There is a DVD release. I’m not sure if a Blu-ray release actually took place, as I can only find a mention of season 1 and no sales.
Veridian Dynamics “in-universe” commercials would appear at times in the episodes, but some or all of them were released as standalone videos on Youtube as well. There are user uploads, as well as a few from ABC.
In terms of the show itself, I’m not too worried yet. However, there are assorted bits which are much harder to find unless you know where to look. For example, hidden in plain sight to a degree, are some bonus clips of Phil and Lem doing science stuff. There are three of them, and they’re fun to watch! Where are they? Only on ABC’s Youtube channel in very low quality (even for the time they were uploaded). I downloaded them in case they magically disappear from the channel.
Watch: Lesson 1, Lesson 2, Lesson 3
There is a unique upload showing some close-ups of the bio-computer used in one of the episodes. Unclear if official, will have to compare to in-episode shots.
There’s more footage behind the scenes. So far, I’ve found three “Flip Cam” videos where we get some commentary from the cast.
Watch: Flip Cam with Jay Harrington, Flip Cam with Jonathan and Malcolm
Most recently, I found a few more clips of cast commentary that were super fun to watch. If only the majority of the BOT fans could have seen these!
Favorite Experiments – Experimenting Never Hurt Anyone!
That’s everything so far! It’s not much, but I am glad to find anything at all for Better Off Ted. I hope one day soon we get a spiritual successor show, as there are many industries these days which are just as bad/zany as the model Veridican Dynamics portrays.
